How To Stop Zombies From Eating Garden Sims 3
There's a number of ways, short of getting rid of the EP entirely.
One is to work around this annoyance by always having your plants/crops in a fenced in area locked by a gate that the zombies cannot access. This could theoretically backfire if a zombie spawns inside of such an area and gets locked in with the plants instead of locked out, but there aren't many players reporting having seen this happen.
Another is to use the built-in Game Options to freeze the Lunar Cycle at something other than Full Moon. If there is no Full Moon, there are no zombies (rarely a sim can be turned into one through a spell or elixir, but that's not a regular occurrence for most of us). This in effect hurts werewolves and fairies who thrive under a Full Moon, but not having one is not life-threatening for them.
Thirdly, if not averse to using mods, a standalone tuning mod or NRaas Retuner can be used to disallow zombies in the first place.
I use the fenced in method myself, wherever it is feasible.

Thanks so much. I am going to do the moon thing. Much appreciated. I hated to uninstall the expansion, as it has other good qualities. But I love gardening! Thanks again. You answered my question perfectly.

hahahaha .. I deal with them by simply asking them to pose ...
Funny thing is.. been dealing with this the least few days myself and also looked it up, Like the second comment said, there are a few ways..
I was going to fence them in myself buy my starter house doesn't have enough room for a fence for all my plants atm so i found out that just simply right clicking thtem and asking them to pose tends to lock them into just posing for a good bit, can do that even while sleeping haha.. for me anyway, it typically keeps them locked into posing most the night.. may have to ask them to pose maybe 3 times total.. have not really had to ask them to pose more then 4 times i believe
What works for me is greenhouse. I am not building it primarily for Zombies, I am building it to protect plants from weather, but it also works to protect plants from Zombies, since I never heard of Zombie spawning inside a building. However, for greenhouse to work, you'll need a certain Store content and Into the Future's grass carpet. Otherwise the greenhouse will not look well and you will need moveobjects cheat to plant inside them. This will be especially the case with trees, since other plants you can plant to planters, which are part of Supernatural EP and place them insides.
I built fences with locked gates. The gates helped to keep some of my people from gardening instead of what I wanted them to do as well. I also built a basement and used grass carpets to grow things down there too. I love gardening too!
@Peno11 & @Starhawk Ranger I never knew the grass carpet could be used to grow things... Thanks for the info!

Once I save up enough to but a new new much larger house / plot of land.. Fences will be placed this time.. starter cheap house i am still in myself atm,,
1 fairy and droid in this current house hold.. might see if I can befriend a witch/warlock and move them in to help deal with them, failing that.. potions or something can cure them from being zombies
Fences with locked gates (pretty much what everyone else has suggested). To add one tidbit to what @igazor laid out at the start, my understanding is that zombies will not spawn in an area where they do not have an unobstructed route to the edge of the lot. That's why the locked gate is important: if the zombie can't open it, then it's not unobstructed. Also keep in mind that deer will also come destroy your plants if Pets is installed, and they aren't restricted to a moon phase. Fences and gates aren't just for zombie protection.
If you get a Genie in your household you can also Charm them and gain temporary control of them. I used to have Chip do so then have them practice skills(Logic, Science,Athletics, or Alchemy) for the rest of the night. :p
